The meal block marketplace. Students sell the meals they will not use to students who want them.

Students pay for meal plans up front. Most plans end the semester with meals unused, and the money is gone.
Block Market lets a student sell a meal they will not use to a student who wants one, at a price the market sets. The seller recovers value from something they already own. The buyer eats for less than the dining hall charges.
We think students should be able to trade what they have already paid for. That is the whole idea.
How a trade works
- 1A seller lists a block at the current price.
- 2A buyer claims it. Payment is held until the meal is delivered.
- 3The seller places the order or swipes the buyer in. The buyer eats. The seller is paid.

Block Market is a peer-to-peer marketplace for campus meal blocks, built by Bijective Markets, Inc. It is live at Carnegie Mellon University and expanding to other campuses in fall 2026.
